The Championship Fund helps prepare Kansas Wesleyan athletics teams for postseason competition and helps fund travel expenses when teams advance. Because Kansas Wesleyan's postseason success comes with a price tag, some university supporters have come forward to help mitigate the impact by contributing to the Championship Fund. The university is anticipating success again this year and is asking university donors to contribute to this cause.

Nutrition is important to student-athletes, especially when they are giving maximum effort on the practice or competition field. Over the course of the academic year, student-athletes are on campus at times when there are no classes and the campus cafeteria is closed. This impacts nearly every athletics program. In the preseason week, the university invites the off-campus student-athletes, athletic trainers and coaches to eat in Shriwise cafeteria, joining the students that live on campus. Not only does this help to develop fellowship within each team, it ensures those students and staff members are getting appropriate nutrition. Student-athletes also need an assist at the end of the fall semester, since competition can extend beyond fall final exams, and prior to the start of the spring semester when winter and spring sports return early for competition or preparation for the upcoming season. During spring break, the meal plan does not cover meals for the student-athletes that remain on campus for practice or competition.
